As a Banking Officer/Lobby Services for Bank of the West, one is expected to perform any and all job duties and assignments with limited supervision within the Branch. Primary responsibility is to provide exemplary customer service while operating under all Bank of the West policy and procedures. Individuals must show sound judgment and the ability to make decisions and solve problems pertaining to customer service and all duties as assigned within the Bank. Must perform customer transactions in person and by phone in a timely and efficient manner while balancing assigned teller drawer on a daily basis. On a periodic basis rotate responsibilities within Branch to cover any and all job functions as needed-this is to include working in Lobby Services on the teller line and also the new account desk.
Position performs any combination of the following:
Assist customers in person and at drive-thru with teller transactions, process new account opening requests, answer the phone, issue debit cards, and support others as needed.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES - Lobby Services:
· Provide excellent customer service to lobby customers, drive-thru customer, and via phone.
· Ensure mail deposits are processed timely and pursuant to procedures.
· Ensure stop payments have been placed correctly on the system (Navigator).
· Ensure new deposit accounts have been set up correctly.
· Ensure business and personal new account customers have been offered (cross-selling) additional deposit products.
· Ensure closed deposit accounts have been closed correctly.
· Accurately process customer transactions.
· Cash checks following Bank of the West policy.
· Process US Savings Bonds redemptions.
· Selling and cashing of Cashier checks.
· Assist Branch in handling phone calls.
· Monitor the cash in the cash recyclers and ATM and replenish or remove cash as needed.
· Provide information pertaining to CTRs and forward to the BSA Department. Also provide any information that might necessitate the need for a SAR filing. This should also be forwarded to the BSA department.
· Sort morning and afternoon mail and deliver to appropriate personnel.
· Cross sell to customers on all bank products.
· Open new accounts and issue debit cards, assist customers with enrolling in Online Banking and Mobile Banking.
Security – Follow Bank’s Security Policy to include the items below:
· Adherence of the bank’s Security Policy/ Information Systems and Security Policy, and Branch Building Management Policy.
· Opening and closing procedures.
· Completion of Incident/Crime Reports and forwarding them to the bank’s BSA Officer and Security Officer.
· Follow Bank’s BSA/AML/CIP Policy and all other Compliance Policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Basic computer skills, preferably Windows experience.
· Good verbal communication skills, including telephone skills.
· Bilingual a plus but not required.
· Previous cash handling experience.
· Ability to multi-task duties.
· Ability to operate a ten-key adding machine.
· Basic computer skills, preferably Windows/ Excel experience.

· Detail oriented.
· Prefer previous financial institution experience.
· Ability to handle confidential matters and apply discretion.
· Must follow all Bank of the West policies.
HOURS:
The Bank’s operating hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
