Bankruptcy Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bankruptcy and Civil Litigation Attorney to join our legal team in a part-time or full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent writing abilities, and experience handling Chapter 7, and/or Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. This role involves managing cases from inception through resolution, working directly with clients, and appearing in federal and state courts.

You will assist in drafting civil litigation motions and briefs, and appearing in court, when needed.

Strong, qualified candidates can be fully remote.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis to support case strategies and legal opinions.
• Draft clear, precise legal documents including pleadings, contracts, briefs, motions, memoranda, and correspondence that adhere to professional standards.
• Conduct client interviews for potential new bankruptcies to gather pertinent information for various legal matters such as family law or immigration cases.
• Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel or parties to facilitate favorable resolutions for clients.
• Communicate regularly with clients to update them on case status and next steps.
• Attend hearings and trials in state and federal court when necessary.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in Texas is required.
• 2–5+ years of experience in bankruptcy, civil litigation, or a combination of both.
• Strong understanding of the Bankruptcy Code, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and applicable state laws.
• Exceptional research skills utilizing LexisNexis platforms to gather relevant legal information efficiently.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-structured legal drafts and correspondence.
• Strong analytical abilities for interpreting laws and applying them effectively in diverse scenarios.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Pay: From $76,644.13 per year
