Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys specializing in bankruptcy law by managing case files, interacting with clients, and preparing essential documents. Your expertise will help streamline the bankruptcy process for clients facing financial challenges, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of bankruptcy cases, including chapter 7 and 13 filings
- Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, schedules, proofs of claim, and motions using legal case management systems Best Case and MyCase
- Manage case files meticulously, ensuring accurate document review, data entry, and filing in both electronic and physical formats
- Coordinate communication with clients, creditors, courts, and other stakeholders through professional phone etiquette and email correspondence
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, court dates, and document submissions to ensure timely case progression
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and clarity; assist with transcription and drafting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of bankruptcy law procedures and documentation requirements
- Familiarity with conducting prospect telephone calls and client signing meetings.
- Experience using legal administrative software including Best Case
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal correspondence and reports; keen proofreading abilities for accuracy in legal documents
- Effective interviewing skills for client intake; professional phone etiquette for client interactions
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and document review; experience in clerical and administrative support roles preferred

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
