PAY SCALE:
- Banquet Houseman is $15.00 per hour
- Banquet Server is $4.00 per hour + Gratuity
Work Schedule: Varying Schedule - Mostly Nights and Weekends & Holidays
Position Summary
The Banquet Houseman / Server is a dual-role position responsible for the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events. This team member ensures all event spaces are prepared to standard, delivers food and beverage service with professionalism, and maintains a clean, organized environment throughout each function. The role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional guest service.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Setup & Room Preparation
- Set up banquet rooms according to specifications, including linens, tables, chairs, serviceware, and glassware
- Arrange buffet stations, beverage stations, and event equipment with precision
- Attend pre-event meetings to understand event details and service expectations
- Ensure all spaces are clean, organized, and fully prepared prior to guest arrival
Food & Beverage Service
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service throughout events
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards and timelines
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns
- Replenish food, beverages, and supplies as needed during service
Event Support & Breakdown
- Clear tables and bus dishes efficiently throughout and after events [
- Reset rooms after events according to specifications for upcoming functions [
- Perform general cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain health and safety standards
- Restock banquet supplies, condiments, and equipment for future events
General Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet and back-of-house areas
- Support team members to ensure smooth and efficient event execution
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or banquet operations preferred
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Basic knowledge of food service, table settings, and banquet operations
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs in a fast-paced environment
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
- Ability to work in a crowded, high-energy event setting
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of banquet service etiquette and guest relations
- Familiarity with beverage equipment and service operations
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced banquet and event environment requiring flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
