SUMMARY
The primary focus of the position is to service the individual needs of the guests in banquet dining and throughout the hotel by providing excellent professional and friendly customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
- Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs
- Committed to making every guest is satisfied
- Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
- Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards
Banquet Server Operations
- Job duties may include but not limited to any or all of the following depending on type of event you are assigned to work.
- Complete all side-work and cleaning duties as described in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assumes responsibility of the banquet department at all times.
- Ensures that maintenance, cleanliness, supplies and organization of all banquet storage areas are maintained.
- Inspects functions areas and correct issues immediately.
- Ensures good working relations with Catering, Sales, Culinary and other Banquet Team Members
- Provide attentive service, focusing on guests’ needs.
- Knowledge of complete menu and work stations prior to function.
- Knowledge of proper table settings.
- Ensure that proper service and etiquette is maintained at all times.
- Keeping the kitchen work areas clean at all times.
- Ensure Banquet facilities are safe and secure upon completion of shift
- Must adhere to the company employee handbook at all times.
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service oriented manner.
- Guests must feel welcome, comfortable, and well attended to at all time.
- Handle complaints, arbitrate disputes and resolve grievances by working with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor when needed
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
- Comply at all times with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous serving experience required
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Food Handlers Certification preferred
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
- Be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
