Position Title: Banquet Server

Reports to: Banquet Manager/Banquet Operations Manager

Position Summary: Provides food and Beverage service to members and guests

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares room for functions, including table setups with proper linen, glassware and china. This may also include moving tables, chairs and other furniture, etc. to insure proper room setup.
  • Must attend prefunction meetings for special instructions (i.e. flow of service, menu selections and all other pertinent information.)
  • Assists in the “normal” physical setup/tear down of the room, as well as the addition or deletion of tables should a banquet decrease or increase in size. This would also include any last minute additions a client should request for (i.e. registration tables, podium and platforms.)
  • Serves food and beverage to members and guests in a quick, friendly and efficient manner according to the club’s standards.
  • Cleans tables of all food and beverage, removes linen from tables. Chairs are to be placed neatly around the walls. Side stations and service areas are to be clean and well organized.
  • Returns all leftover food to the kitchen and returns any special linen/props to the proper location
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures for punching in/out for shifts, breaks and transfers of responsibilities or departments.
  • Remains in assigned room at all times unless instructed otherwise.
  • Performs all side work
  • Continually observes guests to monitor consumption of liquor. Should report and misuse or overuse of alcoholic beverages immediately to the supervisor.
  • Must report to work station at scheduled time properly groomed and uniformed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by employer

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

Experience: Minimum one year prior Banquet Server experience is preferred or must have general knowledge of food and beverage.

Additional Skills: Must be able to assist in set ups/tears downs of banquet rooms, must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs. and be mobile enough to perform pushing and pulling motions. Must have good communication skills, personable attitude, and a willingness to help out with other areas if necessary.
