Position Summary:
The Barback will ensure that all assigned beverage stations are maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion adhering to all safety and health standards. The Barback is responsible for stocking bar supplies and ice, cleaning bar areas, and washing and stocking glassware. The Barback will also ensure that beverage stations are properly stocked and all products are fresh, rotated and properly stored. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Ensure that beverage stations are properly stocked and that products are fresh and rotated.
3. Cut and stock fresh condiments when needed.
4. Restock and set up bars including replacing empty liquor bottles and retrieving bar tools following established requisition procedures.
5. Responsible for stocking ice, washing and restocking glassware, and cleaning bar areas. Ensure appropriate levels of glassware are available for the Bartenders.
6. Follow established side work duties.
7. Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly including glass washers, ice machines, blenders, point-of-sale (POS) system, liquor dispensing system, and coolers. Report any malfunctioning equipment to Beverage management.
8. Take Guest drink orders as needed, prepare drinks, and record transactions into the POS following established Thunder Valley procedures.
9. Ensure that all Guests are of legal drinking age and that they are not over-served following Company and Department procedures.
10. Assist with projects for the department including moving tables, chairs, and portable bars.
11. Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
4. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Requires bending and reaching for supplies and equipment.
3. Ability to lift, maneuver, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
4. Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
5. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
6. Ability to communicate using a two-way radio.
