Barback/Bouncer and Bartender

Local Pocatello bar seeking a dependable, customer-focused bartender and barback/bouncer to join our team.

We are looking for people who take pride in their work, enjoy interacting with guests, and understand the importance of maintaining a clean and professional bar environment.

The positions offers a consistent schedule:

• Bartender - approximately 35 hours per week, including three weekday shifts and weekend shifts with Monday's and Friday's off
• Barback/Bouncer - approximately 12 to 15 hours per weekend (nights)

Bartender Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Provide friendly and attentive customer service
• Verify customer age and comply with all alcohol service laws
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately
• Operate POS system
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar
• Complete opening, closing, and side work duties
• Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of the bar during slower periods
• Work to create a positive atmosphere for guests

Barback/Bouncer Duties

• Verify customer age and comply with all alcohol service laws
• Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, garnishes, glassware, and beverages promptly to maintain smooth service flow
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area through regular cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, and proper food handling practices
• Buss tables and clear empty glasses or dishes from guest areas efficiently to keep the environment tidy and inviting
• Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced nightclub, restaurant, or banquet environment

Qualifications/Experience

• Bartending experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated and able to remain productive during downtime
• Must be responsible and able to work unsupervised
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Must know how to change out soda and tap kegs
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Experience working in hotel or restaurant settings demonstrates adaptability in diverse service environments
• Barista experience or serving background can provide a solid foundation for delivering excellent customer interactions
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service standards

Schedule

• Approximately 35 hours per week
• About 15 weekday hours and 20 weekend hours
• Consistent set schedule
• Three weekday shifts plus weekends
• Regular days off: Monday and Friday
