Barback/Hostess

We are looking for a proactive, friendly and customer service oriented team member for the Blue Rascal Distillery tasting room. This position will host or barback, supporting our customer experience for guests in the tasting room. Our patrons come in to enjoy the ambience, the spirits, and hand crafted cocktails - and this role is critical to the team's overall success in exceeding customer expectations.

Experience:

• 1 year of barback experience or 1 year of host experience

Job Duties:

As barback, ensure mixologists and tasting room staff have all they need to create an exceptional experience for guests. This can include:

• Prepping ingredients for cocktails before and during hours of service (press espresso, cut fruit, press fresh juices, tend to herbs)
• Stocking or restocking the bar and tasting room (ensure mixologists have all they need during service; restocking retail cabinets)

As hostess, demonstrate genuine hospitality and setting the stage for an exceptional experience by making every single guest feel welcome at the door and

• Managing reservations and seating guests
• Seat walk ins or manage waiting list to accurately set guest expectations
• Cleaning and sanitizing Guest touch points in the restaurant

In either role

• Engage guests in describing the distillery, the cocktail menu layout, and our spirits
• Take orders and deliver drinks to guests occasionally
• Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
• Ensure questions about our products are answered (By yourself or someone on site)
• Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
• Identify belligerent customers, and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environment
• Clean the bar and the surrounding area of spills and other messes as needed

Abilities:

• Perceptive to the Guest and their needs and wants.
• Perceptive and proactive in identifying what mixologists will need during service
• Ability to work positively with all associates within the distillery.
• Ability to multi-task while taking care of the Guest’s needs and maintaining composure.
• Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality.
• Ability to stand for 10-12 hours.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
