Duties

• Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling appointments and coordinating staff shifts to maximize efficiency
• Lead and mentor barbers and stylists, providing guidance on hair styling techniques, color theory, and new trends
• Ensure all sanitation standards are strictly followed to maintain a clean, safe environment for clients and staff
• Oversee retail sales efforts by upselling products such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, makeup, nail care items, and other beauty supplies
• Utilize salon software systems like MINDBODY to manage bookings, client records, and sales transactions effectively
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Conduct staff training on new services including straight razor shaves, hair threading, and advanced styling techniques
• Maintain inventory levels of salon supplies and beauty products while managing retail math to optimize profitability
• Support front desk operations by handling client check-ins/outs, appointment confirmations, and payment processing
• Foster a team environment through mentoring, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development initiatives

Qualifications

• Proven experience in salon or store management within the beauty industry or barbering environment
• Strong knowledge of hair styling techniques including hair extensions, coloring, straight razor shaves, and makeup application
• Familiarity with salon software systems such as MINDBODY or equivalent management tools
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and engage clients effectively
• Deep understanding of sanitation practices specific to barbering and cosmetology services
• Ability to perform retail sales with upselling strategies to increase revenue opportunities
• Knowledge of retail math for inventory management and profit analysis
• Certification in cosmetology or barbering from an accredited program is required; additional skills in eyelash extensions or nail care are a plus
• Experience mentoring team members in technical skills like hair threading or advanced styling techniques is highly desirable

Pay: $47,355.15 per year
