Barge Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Barge Stability & Marine Operations

• Oversee barge stability, ballast control, and tank management
• Ensure watertight integrity at all times
• Supervise ballast control operations, anchor positioning, and spud system activities

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce company safety policies and procedures
• Conduct toolbox talks and implement Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
• Ensure maintenance and readiness of marine fire and safety equipment (lifeboats, fire detection systems, etc.)

Crew Management & Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate deck crew, crane operators, and roustabouts
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and maintain discipline
• Address and resolve crew conflicts effectively

Logistics & Maintenance

• Oversee loading, storage, and handling of cargo and consumables
• Manage preventive maintenance programs for hull, deck machinery, and superstructure

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare daily operational reports, including cargo and fuel consumption
• Maintain effective communication with onshore management and other vessels

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Barge Supervisor or in a similar offshore marine role
• Strong knowledge of marine operations, stability, and safety practices
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work in high-pressure offshore environments
• Relevant marine certifications and compliance training preferred
