Barista Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team. Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation & Quality
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Customize drinks to meet customer preferences while maintaining consistency.
- Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
- Ensure every beverage meets our quality and brand standards.
Customer Experience
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service.
- Offer knowledgeable recommendations and answer menu-related questions.
- Accurately take orders and handle special requests with professionalism.
- Address customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and supplies.
- Restock items as needed and communicate shortages to management.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace at all times.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Regularly clean equipment, service areas, and seating spaces.
Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support colleagues during peak hours and maintain clear communication.
- Contribute ideas to enhance menu offerings and overall guest experience.
Cash Handling & Transactions
- Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Process payments (cash and electronic) and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Balance cash drawers in accordance with company procedures.
Additional Duties
- Support café promotions, seasonal offerings, and special events.
- Assist the Café Manager with operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous barista or customer service experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate).
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing methods is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and inventory.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment and performing repetitive tasks.
