The bakehouse and coffee bar is where most people connect with Good Friend. It’s a space shaped by daily rhythm — morning coffee, familiar faces, brief exchanges, and steady care.

About the Role

This is a front-of-house role focused on coffee, service, and the flow of the café.

The Barista works closely with the Cook during service, coordinating orders and pacing so food and drink move through the space smoothly. The role requires presence, communication, and an ability to hold both hospitality and operational awareness at the same time.

What You’ll Do

Schedule: Shifts vary based on café needs (including mornings)

• Prepare coffee and espresso drinks according to Good Friend standards
• Receive and enter customer orders accurately through the POS
• Coordinate food orders with the Cook during service
• Communicate timing or special requests clearly and calmly
• Serve customers with warmth, clarity, and attentiveness
• Maintain a clean, organized bar and café space throughout the shift
• Restock bar and café items to support smooth service
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Work collaboratively with the Cook and Lead Baker to support service flow
• Support a calm, welcoming atmosphere in the café

What We’re Looking For

• Previous barista experience required
• Previous café or customer-facing experience preferred
• Comfort working on your feet in a steady, often busy environment
• Ability to communicate clearly during service
• Attention to detail and accuracy with orders
• Calm presence under pressure
• Reliability and follow-through
• Willingness to learn systems and refine skills over time
