Coffee by Cairo is the specialty coffee concept sitting inside Cairo Grill — one of Minneapolis’s most loved East African restaurants. The Role

We’re hiring a Barista to join the Coffee by Cairo team. You’ll report to our Lead Barista/Shift Leader and work as part of a small, tight team where your contribution genuinely matters. If you’re passionate about coffee, love people, and want to be part of something being built from the ground up — this is for you.

What You’ll Do

∙ Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, iced beverages, chai, and specialty drinks to a consistent standard

∙ Deliver warm, efficient, and genuine service to every guest

∙ Keep the bar clean, stocked, and organised throughout your shift

∙ Follow recipes, portion guides, and brand standards set by the Lead Barista

∙ Support the team during busy periods — no task is beneath you

∙ Learn and grow — we invest in people who want to get better

What We’re Looking For

∙ Some barista or café experience preferred — but the right attitude matters more than years on a CV

∙ A genuine love for coffee and hospitality

∙ Reliable, punctual, and a team player

∙ Able to work at pace without cutting corners on quality

∙ Friendly and confident with guests

∙ Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and events

Bonus Points For

∙ Experience with flavoured or spiced drinks (chai, syrups, alternative milks)

∙ Interest in East African culture, food, or community

∙ Familiarity with Square POS or similar systems

∙ Someone looking to grow into a senior role over time
