Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using POS systems, including Aloha POS.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee shop, including equipment, counters, and seating areas.
• Assist customers with menu selections and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Handle food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
• Manage inventory levels of supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary.
• Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent customer service.
• Perform basic retail math to ensure accurate cash handling and sales reporting.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Proficiency in operating cash registers and POS systems (experience with Aloha POS is a plus).
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food service best practices.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively assist customers and work as part of a team.
• Previous experience in retail or food service is preferred but not required.
