Barista

Overview
Join our team at Coal Creek Coffee, a family-owned and operated espresso stand serving the Newcastle community. We’re looking for friendly, reliable, and energetic baristas who take pride in crafting great drinks and creating a welcoming experience for every customer. As a barista, you’ll be the face of our stand—building relationships with regulars, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and helping us deliver consistent, high-quality coffee every day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with consistency and accuracy
• Deliver fast, friendly, and efficient service during both slow and high-volume periods
• Take orders and process transactions accurately using our POS system
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workspace at all times
• Follow all food safety and drink preparation standards
• Execute opening and closing responsibilities without shortcuts
• Work as a team to keep operations running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

• Strong reliability and punctuality — showing up on time is non-negotiable
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality
• Positive attitude and professional customer interaction
• Attention to detail and consistency in every drink
• Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for your role and your performance
• Previous barista or food service experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with espresso machines and drink recipes (preferred)

Scheduling Expectations

• Availability for either Monday - Friday afternoons OR Friday afternoons + weekends
• Consistent availability is important — we value dependable schedules

Pay: $17.13 - $21.00 per hour
