Barista

Apply to be a Polar Espresso AK barista for the summer of 2026!

We are looking for 2 baristas to join our team! At our coffee cart (located inside the Anchorage Train Depot), we make and serve coffee to Alaska Railroad employees and train passengers. Our baristas love chatting with both Alaskans and tourists who have come to ride the train. Plus - free coffee while you're working :)

This position is seasonal: we are open when the trains are running -- early May through mid-September.

In addition to your guaranteed base pay, you will earn tips - which typically average $50-$80 per person per day.

Responsibilities:

• Making espresso drinks and other hot beverages
• Selling pre-made breakfast foods and pastries
• Running the cash register and counting the money at the end of each shift
• Cleaning up during and at the end of each shift
• Providing quality customer service to Alaska railroad staff and train passengers!

Hours: 5:00am - 10:30am. 3-5 shifts per week.

We are open 7 days a week, so interested applicants should be available to work some weekends and summer holidays. Must be able to wake up early given our shifts start at 5am daily.

Experience: Previous barista experience preferred.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
