Position Summary:
As a Barista at St. Noir, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving coffee, tea, and specialty beverages. You will also assist with the preparation and service of wine and other beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Take orders and accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues with a positive attitude.
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare coffee and espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, pour-overs, etc.), tea, and other beverages in accordance with St. Noir's recipes and quality standards. Offer wine recommendations and serve beverages in a professional manner.
- Use of Equipment: Safely operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other related tools. Follow proper procedures for cleaning and maintaining equipment, ensuring that all machines are in working order for the highest quality beverage preparation. Troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and notify management of any malfunctioning machines for repair or maintenance.
- Bar Setup and Inventory Management: Assist in the preparation and stocking of the bar area, including the coffee station, wine bar, and storage areas. Monitor and maintain stock levels of coffee, tea, syrups, and bar supplies, notifying management of any low inventory.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage of ingredients and regular cleaning of equipment and workstations. Ensure the café and bar areas are consistently clean and organized, following St. Noir’s cleaning protocols and health standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Assist with promotional events or special programs as needed. Maintain knowledge of menu items, new offerings, and special promotions to share with customers.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle and operate coffee and bar equipment (training will be provided).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (if serving alcohol).
- Knowledge of alcohol serving laws (if applicable in your state/country) and responsible service practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (for restocking supplies, etc.).
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
