We’re looking for a barista who embodies the luxury lifestyle experience. An ideal Unscripted team member has a passion for creating unique experiences, that can quickly perpetuate a culture of great design and superlative service, with a sharp sense of humor. This candidate will have a passion for exceptional hotel service and can express that belief in an atmosphere of spontaneity and authenticity. The barista attendant will prepare beverages in accordance with menu standards and provide a welcoming and clean environment for guests. Unscripted Durham falls under the Hyatt umbrella and offers all of the perks of being a part of a corporate hotel group, while still encouraging and appreciating individualism and creativity.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities

· Serving guests in Outlet.

· Answering guest questions about menu items.

· Brewing gourmet coffee and other specialty beverages.

· Preparing breakfast menu items for guests

· Inventorying, stocking, and communicating about Barista supplies

· Providing Barista skills trainings to team members

· Leading set-up for special breakfast events

· Up-selling and suggestive selling of items.

· Accurately processing transactions and maintaining a balanced bank.

· Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

· $13 per hour plus tips and service charges

Knowledge/ Skills

· Great memory for recollection of frequently requested drinks

· Mixology and preparation to create signature drinks

· Communication skills to use on a frequent basis

· Organization to maintain order using a multitude of different ingredients and tools

· Efficiency for high-volume hours

· Consistency for regulars

Minimum Qualifications

· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

· Refined verbal communication skills.

· Must be able to work weekends and early mornings.

Work Environment/Conditions

· Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.

· Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.

Physical Demands

· While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, and stand and walk for long periods of time

· Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

· Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements, pushing and pulling and simple grasping frequently; squeezing, overhead reaching & fine manipulation occasionally.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA’s):

· Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple tasks at a time.

· Time management skills, keen sense of urgency

· Good people skills, ability to be a role model to peers

· Intermediate knowledge of coffee

· Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations

· Ability to effectively communicate with bar team, kitchen, and dining room staff

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Thorough knowledge of house standards

· Ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include early mornings, weekends, and holidays

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Familiar with cash control

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
