Barista

Job Overview:

Join our team as a Barista and be a part of creating a warm and welcoming environment for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, as well as providing excellent customer service.

Duties:

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, assisting, and serving customers
• Educate customers about Yemeni coffee by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions about products
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques for drinks
• Use coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness
• Operate POS systems to process customer orders and payments
• Manage inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and inform management of shortages
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down equipment and cleaning tasks
• Stay updated on menu changes, new products, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers
• Assists with the washing of dishes, utensils, cups, and saucers using proper techniques
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the work area and equipment
• Follow food safety standards and guidelines

Requirements:

• Food industry experience preferred
• Previous experience as a barista is not required but preferred
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays (hours will extend during certain seasons like Ramadan)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds
• Knowledge of retail math for handling transactions accurately
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
