Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our dynamic café team at our Printers Row location. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring customer satisfaction while fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
• Assist customers with menu selections and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
• Engage with customers to create a friendly environment and encourage repeat visits.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies; communicate needs to management.

Experience

• Previous experience in sales or retail is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and knowledge of different coffee types is a plus.
• Experience in the food industry is beneficial; understanding food safety practices is essential.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy café setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.

Job Type: Part-time
