Barista

Furqaan Cafe is seeking a reliable and friendly Barista to prepare and serve high-quality beverages while delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
• Engage with customers warmly, taking orders efficiently and providing outstanding service
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cashiering duties with accuracy using POS systems
• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and compliance
• Assist in basic food preparation tasks, including assembling snacks or light food items as needed. Restock supplies and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience or background in coffee service with food handler certificate is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and warmly
• Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order accuracy
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Experience in food industry roles involving serving, food preparation, or retail math is a plus
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work flexible hours as needed

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
