Barista

Cineopera is opening in Arts District by downtown and we’re looking for Baristas to join our opening team! Cineopera is an upscale casual rooftop marketplace featuring a full bar, counter-service kitchen, movie screen, and retail shop — all designed to create a vibrant, welcoming space where the community can gather, unwind, and connect.

Open Friday - Sunday availability required, full availability preferred. All Baristas will start as part-time with opportunity for full-time based on availability, performance, and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages
• Take customer orders accurately and handle payments (cash, card, POS systems)
• Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, equipment, and seating areas
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely
• Follow recipes and presentation standards for drinks and food items
• Restock supplies (cups, milk, syrups, etc.)
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service and handle complaints professionally
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and offerings.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all menu items, including allergens and dietary considerations.
• Support overall front-of-house operations and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications:

• Valid food handler certificate preferred.
• RBS certificate preferred.
• General allergen knowledge required.
• Experience working in an upscale casual and high volume coffee shop or restaurant preferred.
• Strong coffee and N/A beverage knowledge preferred
• Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.
• Be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

Compensation:

• $17.87 hourly rate.
• This position is included in a full-house tip pool.
