Barista
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and standards
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately, including handling cash and credit transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
- Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report shortages to supervisors
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Adhere to Tribal Casino policies, including guest service standards and confidentiality requirements
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary
- Perform opening, closing, and all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
Required Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications & Requirements
- Food Handlers Card (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
- Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age (per Tribal and state regulations)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Manual dexterity to operate coffee equipment and POS systems
Work Environment
- Fast-paced cafe environment within a casino setting
- Exposure to noise, crowds, and varying temperatures
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous barista, cafe, or food service experience preferred but not required
- Training provided for beverage preparation and POS systems
