Barista

Boonton Coffee Co in Boonton, NJ is looking for baristas to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-sufficient, ambitious, and reliable worker with a great attitude. We are a successfully run, small, family-owned business located on Boonton Main Street. We are passionate about our work and focus on a more traditional approach towards coffee. All of our coffee is roasted weekly in-house to ensure fresh roasted quality. As it is paramount that we serve the highest quality coffee we can, we similarly aim to build a team of high quality baristas to serve it.

Essential Functions

• Prepare espresso beverages for customers, meeting quality standards.

• Constantly aim to improve; practicing latte art, efficiency on bar, overall cleanliness

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience; Engage with and learn about regular customers, occasionally preparing drinks before they've even ordered them

• Develop a thorough understanding of our coffees, their origins, flavor notes, and roast profiles

• Maintain a clean and organized environment in all areas of the store.

• Taste coffee, tea and specialty beverages regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards.

• Practice self-reflection and ask for feedback on performance; know and hone your personal strengths and opportunities for improvement.

• Responsible for day-to-day activities that embrace sustainability. Minimizing waste, conserving energy and limiting water usage are some of the things we take very seriously in the greater scheme of environmental sustainability

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee as well as a desire to educate others about our coffee.

• Ability to deliver exceptional service in a personal and professional manner

• Strong attention to detail and high respect for cleanliness and organization

• Great communication skills both with employees and customers of diverse backgrounds

• Open to feedback and constantly striving to improve

• Ability to multi-task with ease

• Available on weekends. Strong preference to open availabilities and high reliability.

• Strong preference to baristas with prior experience

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
