Barista

Job Overview

Kaida Coffee & Bakery is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Barista to join our café on Saturdays and Sundays. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing busy rush hours, and providing friendly and efficient customer service.

This position requires full-day availability on both Saturdays and Sundays. The selected candidate should be able to work quickly, stay organized under pressure, and independently manage café operations when needed.

Duties

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, cold brew, teas, and specialty beverages
• Work quickly and accurately during busy rush hours
• Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service
• Operate the Square POS system and process cash and card payments accurately
• Prepare and serve pastries, sandwiches, and other café food items
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
• Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and report low-stock items
• Complete opening and closing duties as scheduled
• Manage café operations independently when required

Skills and Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional barista experience
• Strong espresso preparation and milk-steaming skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume café
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills
• Fast, energetic, organized, and dependable
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience using POS systems and handling cash and card transactions
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the shift
• Full-day availability on both Saturdays and Sundays
• Valid authorization to work in the United States
• Valid New York City Food Protection Certificate

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
