Barista

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and friendly Barista to join our vibrant café team! In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of high-quality beverages and food items. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages including coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and smoothies with precision and care.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Handle cash register operations, process cash transactions, and give correct change using basic math skills.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, tables, and food prep zones to ensure health standards are met.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any questions or special requests promptly.
• Follow food safety protocols during food handling and beverage preparation to ensure quality and compliance with health regulations.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling ingredients for beverages or light snacks in accordance with food industry standards.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Barista or in food service with knowledge of beverage service techniques.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square for retail transactions.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while demonstrating basic math proficiency.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods.
• Experience in cleaning routines necessary for maintaining a hygienic environment in a café setting.
• Basic understanding of the food industry standards related to food preparation and serving.
