Barista

The Muse Whiskey & Coffee, an upscale, speakeasy-style whiskey and coffee bar, is currently seeking experienced and skilled Baristas to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, as well as providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and educating them on our drink menu
• Prepare and serve beverages according to established standards and recipes, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including brewing equipment, utensils, and serving areas, and report any health and safety hazards to the manager on duty
• Assist in maintaining service areas and dining rooms in a clean, neat, and orderly manner, including serving, clearing, and resetting tables as needed
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu specials or ideas to increase revenue
• Receive and process payments accurately and efficiently
• Maintain stock of coffee bar items, such as cups, plates, and syrups, and ensure they are merchandised, rotated, and stored according to established standards
• Fine tune your skills and craft through ongoing training and development opportunities
• Other duties as directed by the manager on duty
• This position will include at least one on-call shift per week

Qualifications:

• 21+ years of age
• 1+ years experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role
• Knowledge of brewing equipment and techniques, as well as coffee and tea varieties
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• Ability to start work day at 6:00 A.M. PST/PDT
• Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
