Position: Barista and chocolatier assistant

Job Summary:

As a Barista, you will be an essential member of our team, responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee beverages to our valued customers. Your enthusiasm for coffee, exceptional customer service skills, and attention to detail will create a warm and inviting atmosphere in our café. You'll have the opportunity to engage with customers, understand their preferences, and deliver personalized coffee experiences that keep them coming back for more.

Also help produce our high quality chocolate. Attention to detail is up most importance. Be able to wrap chocolate products carefully looking for defects or imperfections.

Label and tie bows on chocolate packages and boxes. Assistant with cleaning molds, shipping orders, and cleaning work area at the end of the day.

Responsibilities:

1. Coffee Preparation: Expertly prepare a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences.

2. Customer Service: Welcome and greet customers with a friendly demeanor, providing excellent customer service throughout their visit. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring they have a positive experience at the café.

3. Product Knowledge: Develop an understanding of our coffee offerings, including the origin, flavor profiles, and brewing methods. Share this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices.

4. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and dining areas. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

5. Cash Handling: Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately, efficiently, and securely. Maintain the cash register and ensure it balances at the end of each shift.

6. Upselling and Recommending: Suggest additional items such as pastries, chocolate or alternative coffee options to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.

7. Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain coffee-making equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently. Report any issues or malfunctions promptly to management.

8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and provide support during peak hours.

9. Training: Participate in training sessions to improve coffee-making skills, customer service, and product knowledge.

Qualifications:

- Previous Experience: Prior experience as a barista or in the food and beverage industry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train candidates who show enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

- Customer-Oriented: Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with a diverse customer base and provide personalized recommendations.

- Multi-tasking: Capable of handling multiple orders and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate precision and attention to detail when preparing beverages, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.

- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to engage with customers and team members effectively.

- Physical Endurance: Be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
