Barista and Market Retail

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where quality and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. Prior experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Union is preferred, along with strong time management skills and a background in food handling and service.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
• Operate POS systems including Union for order processing and cash handling
• Provide exceptional Guest service by greeting customers, taking orders, and ensuring a positive experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including retail market, courtyard, food prep stations and seating areas
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashing out customers and managing register operations
• Follow food safety standards during food preparation and serving processes
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed
• Restock supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operation during shifts
• Uphold health regulations related to food handling and sanitation practices

Experience

• Previous barista experience is highly desirable, especially within a café or retail food environment
• Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
• Experience using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions
• Strong customer service background with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
• Knowledge of coffee brewing methods, beverage customization, and food service standards is preferred
