Barista / Bakery Clerk

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care
• Assist customers by taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing friendly service
• Decorate various pastry items
• Stock bakery items, pastries, and other food products to ensure freshness and presentation standards are met
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately for sales transactions and cash handling
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the café area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment
• Manage food inventory levels, restock supplies, and assist with food prep tasks as needed
• Handle cash register operations with accuracy, including cash handling, cashiering, and basic math calculations

Requirements

• Prior experience as a barista or in food service is highly preferred; coffee experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient sales processing
• Strong time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly while maintaining quality service
• Excellent customer service skills to create positive interactions with diverse guests
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Experience in serving or retail environments within the food industry is advantageous
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads when restocking supplies
