Barista (part time, morning/evening shifts)

We are a modern artisan French bakery in the center of Southlake, TX specializing in croissants, contemporary pastries and coffee. We offer a wide selection of Viennoiserie products, such as croissants, danishes, and brioches in the mornings, french desserts and espresso/tea drinks throughout the day in our flagman store in the heart of Southlake.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Barista to join our team at D'CARAMEL PATISSERIE. As a Barista, you will be the face of our bakery, responsible for providing exceptional customer service, craft a diverse range of beverages with precision and artistry, assisting customers with their selections, and maintaining the cleanliness and attractiveness of our storefront.

- Strong hands-on experience with a commercial espresso machine (e.g., La Marzocco espresso machine or equivalent) is required.
- Must be able to properly steam milk and achieve correct texture and temperature for latte, cappuccino, and other espresso-based drinks (microfoam, consistency, and basic latte art expected).
- Latte art skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of Square/Toast/Clover POS is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the bakery, providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Craft a diverse range of coffee, espresso, and tea beverages.
- Assist customers in choosing and purchasing products.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding product ingredients, prices, and availability In person or by call/text.
- Accurately process customer orders, handle payments, and provide change when necessary.
- Package and present bakery items in an appealing and hygienic manner, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
- Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked storefront, including arranging and restocking display cases and shelves.
- Monitor product freshness and remove any items that do not meet our quality standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate on customer orders.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the storefront, including wiping down counters, tables, equipment and public restroom.
- All cleaning duties as stated on opening/closing and weekly checklists including mopping, sanitizing , routine dusting, general disinfecting and etc in customer and food prep areas.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Handle customer feedback, concerns, or complaints professionally and seek resolutions in a courteous manner.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash register reconciliation and securing the storefront.

Hourly rate based on interview and skills + tips (pool) + PTO + health insurance + long term bonus + employee discount

Working schedule: Tuesday through Friday, and we are primarily seeking availability for afternoon/evening shifts on those days. Full-day availability on Saturdays is required.
Additional availability on Sundays is a strong plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
