Barista, Retail Sales Associate

Business Overview:

We run a Franchise Store for the brand "Le Macaron" pampering taste buds of our guests with more than 20 flavors of the classic French macaron. Using the finest ingredients, these bite-sized treats are prepared with ground almond, meringue and various fillings, including chocolate ganache, rich cream, homemade fruit jams and more. In addition to Macaron, we also offer Gelato Ice cream, Pastries, Small Cakes, Chocolates and Hot/Cold Beverages to our customers. The requirement of Barista and Sales Associates is at the stores located in Downtown Naperville and Chicago Premium Outlets, Aurora.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Barista cum Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and driving sales in our retail environment including but not limited to preparing and serving various hot and cold coffees, selling Macarons, Pastries, Chocolates and Gelato Ice cream. Duties:

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
“Go the extra mile” to drive sales

- Serve customers products sold by the store, with or without packaging

- Accept and prepare online and catering orders

- Prepare and serve various types of hot and cold beverages (including coffee)
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas; review availability of material and create list of material to be ordered

- Bring material to the store from storage location in the mall
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Cross sell products
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
- Build productive trust relationships with customers

- Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems efficiently to process transactions
- Maintain Store in a tidy and organized manner by restocking and arranging products
- Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Uphold high standards of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

- Proven working experience as sales associate
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Knowledge of stock management practices
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including holiday schedules

Experience/ Certifications required:

- Prior experience of working in a cafe/ Ice-Cream parlor is a must (preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, and serving Ice-creams)

- Food handler certification is required
