Barista Shift Leader

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Barista Shift Leader to join our vibrant café team! In this dynamic role, you will lead by example, ensuring smooth daily operations while delivering exceptional customer service. As a shift leader, you'll oversee the barista team, manage food and beverage preparation, and uphold food safety standards. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire your team to create a welcoming environment where every guest feels valued and satisfied. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a fast-paced, customer-focused setting. This position does pay 19 and hour and is eligible to receive tips.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily café operations during your shift, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent service delivery
• Lead and motivate team members to meet sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer service and food quality
• Oversee food preparation, handling, and serving processes in compliance with food safety regulations
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions—including Aloha POS and Micros POS systems—and cashiering duties accurately
• Monitor time management within the team to ensure timely order fulfillment and smooth shift transitions
• Provide training and support to team members on POS systems, food handling procedures, and customer service techniques
• Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly, ensuring a positive experience for all guests

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee preparation and food service operations
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail environment preferred
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs effectively
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
• Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling practices, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, and holidays as needed.
