The Eden is a 70-room independent boutique hotel in Santa Monica, inspired by the Streamline Moderne era and surrounded by lush greenery just steps from the ocean. Within its lobby, Coffee Manufactory @ The Eden serves as both a neighborhood gathering spot and a signature guest experience—offering hand-crafted coffee, house-made syrups, and seasonal botanicals with warmth and artistry.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a confident, detail-driven Barista Supervisor to lead our Coffee Manufactory team. This role goes beyond the bar—you’ll oversee daily operations, guide the team, and ensure consistency across product, service, and systems. You’ll be responsible for scheduling, ordering, inventory, Toast management, and supporting beverage development, while remaining hands-on in service. This is a leadership role rooted in presence, ownership, and a deep respect for craft.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Oversight
· Lead, coach, and support the barista team through active floor presence
· Set the tone for hospitality, pace, and professionalism
· Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching on beverage execution and service standards
· Act as the point person during shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
· Other duties as assigned
Beverage Execution & Development
· Ensure all drinks are executed consistently to Coffee Manufactory and Eden standards
· Maintain and refine recipes for espresso, matcha, and specialty beverages
· Support seasonal beverage development using house-made syrups and botanicals
· Train team members on new menu items and presentation standard
Scheduling & Labor Management
· Create and manage weekly schedules based on business needs
· Ensure proper staffing coverage across all dayparts
· Manage time-off requests, shift swaps, and attendance
Inventory, Ordering & Organization
· Manage inventory levels for coffee, milk, syrups, retail items, and supplies
· Place orders with vendors and maintain appropriate par levels
· Conduct regular inventory counts and track product usage
· Ensure proper labeling, dating, rotation (FIFO), and storage organization
Systems & Toast Management
· Ensure all transactions are rung in correctly and consistently
· Troubleshoot POS issues and support team as needed
Guest Experience
· Deliver warm, intuitive, and elevated service to every guest
· Handle guest concerns with professionalism and care
· Maintain a clean, organized, and visually beautiful coffee lounge environment
· Ensure the coffee shop experience reflects The Eden’s overall aesthetic and energy Operations & Standards
· Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure completion of all checklists
· Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
· Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment
What You Bring
· 2+ years of barista or café experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or lead role preferred
· Strong knowledge of espresso, milk texturing, and specialty beverage preparation· Experience with scheduling, inventory, and ordering
· Familiarity with Toast or similar POS systems preferred
· A genuine love of coffee, detail, and creating meaningful guest experiences
· Calm, organized, and solution-oriented under pressure
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
· Open availability on weekends and holidays
· Interest in working within a design-forward boutique hotel environment
Pay: $25.00 per hour
