Roles and Responsibilities

1. Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Supervise, lead, and motivate a team of baristas and other coffee shop staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Train new employees in coffee preparation, customer service, hygiene standards, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Resolve conflicts or issues among staff and ensure a positive work environment.

2. Customer Service Management:

  • Ensure customers are greeted promptly and receive a positive and friendly experience.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Train staff on proper customer service etiquette, ensuring a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Encourage repeat business by building relationships with regular customers and ensuring they feel valued.

3. Operational Efficiency:

  • Oversee daily coffee shop operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, including beverage preparation, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards, including food safety regulations, health and safety practices, and cleanliness standards.Monitor product quality and consistency, ensuring that all beverages and food items meet the company's standards.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment, including the kitchen, counter area, and seating areas.
  • Ensure that the shop is properly stocked with all necessary ingredients and supplies and that inventory levels are managed efficiently.

4. Inventory and Supply Management:

  • Track inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other consumables.
  • Order supplies and ingredients when stock is low, and manage product deliveries.
  • Monitor stock rotation and ensure that perishable goods are used before expiration to reduce waste.
  • Work with the manager to maintain accurate inventory records.

5. Cash Handling and Financial Management:

  • Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring correct change is given, and process payments through POS systems.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and handle the cash register in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist in managing daily sales and monitor daily cash-outs to ensure accuracy.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that the coffee shop complies with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee regular cleaning and sanitation of all work areas and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Ensure that food safety standards are strictly adhered to, particularly with the handling and storage of food and beverages.
  • Ensure that staff follows personal hygiene protocols and wear proper uniforms.

7. Marketing and Customer Engagement:

  • Promote and encourage the sale of new or seasonal products.
  • Work with the manager to implement promotions, loyalty programs, and special events to drive sales and attract new customers.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, fostering customer loyalty.

8. Reporting and Administrative Tasks:

  • Assist in generating daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Report any issues with equipment, inventory shortages, or maintenance needs to the manager.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, such as staff attendance and incident reports, is accurately recorded.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 1.Previous experience working as a barista or in a food and beverage supervisory role is required.
  • 2. Experience in customer service, team management, and cash handling is preferred.
  • 3. Arabic speaking preferred

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in using POS systems and basic computer software.

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of coffee and espresso preparation methods.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Familiarity with coffee shop equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewing systems.

  • Positive attitude with a customer-centric approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining quality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts. Ability to bend, reach, and move around the café frequently.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a busy, customer-facing environment.
  • Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the coffee shop’s operating hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
