Barista - Topeca Coffee [Vast Bank]

Position Summary:

The Barista is responsible for delivering high-quality beverages, food, and hospitality to guests at Topeca Coffee cafés. This role focuses on exceptional customer service, accurate beverage preparation, and consistent execution of café standards. Baristas play a key role in creating a welcoming environment and upholding the brand experience during every guest interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Hospitality

• Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently.
• Address guest questions and resolve basic concerns professionally.

Beverage & Food Preparation

• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, and food items according to recipes and standards.
• Maintain beverage quality, speed, and consistency.
• Follow proper brewing, milk handling, and presentation procedures.

Café Operations & Cleanliness

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and guest areas.
• Follow opening, closing, and side work procedures.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and safety standards.

Teamwork & Communication

• Work collaboratively with teammates and shift leaders.
• Follow direction from Lead Baristas and Café Managers.
• Communicate needs, issues, or supply concerns promptly.

Performance Expectations

• Consistent delivery of high-quality beverages and service
• Positive guest feedback and hospitality standards
• Reliability and punctuality
• Adherence to safety, cleanliness, and operational procedures
• Willingness to learn and improve skills

Required Qualifications:

• Previous barista or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Strong customer service mindset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn coffee preparation and service standards
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Café environment
• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Exposure to hot equipment, steam, and cleaning chemicals

Schedule & Availability:

• Part-time or full-time, hourly position
• On-site presence required
• Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
