Barista/Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring that every customer has a delightful experience.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems for processing transactions efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, dining areas, and equipment.
• Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
• Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for both customers and staff.
• Manage inventory levels of coffee, supplies, and food items, reporting any shortages or issues to management.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Proficient in cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems, such as Aloha POS.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Knowledge of food safety practices related to beverage preparation and food handling.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with customers warmly and effectively.
• Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• A genuine passion for coffee and eagerness to learn about different brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques.
