Barista/Cashier - FOH

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee, pastries, patisserie, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your role will also involve working with various POS systems and handling cash transactions efficiently.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be 21 years of age or order.

2. Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

3. Excellent customer service skills

4. Previous experience making mixed coffee drinks.

5. Previous experience serving beer and wine.

6. Previous experience with POS system.

7. Previous experience handling and counting cash.

8. Ability to talk to the guests and engage in conversation.

9. Good leadership, training, motivation and communication skills.

10. Great creativity and organizational skills.

11. Must have basic knowledge of food safety guidelines.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.

2. Ability to upsell with knowledge of all the products in the case.

3. Ability to make mixed coffee / tea drinks following standardized recipes.

4. Ability to work under fast-paced environment and pressure with multiple guests’ requests

5. Buss tables and clean after guests depart.

6. Pass dishes through dish machine.

7. Keep display area, bar, counter and working surfaces clean and sanitize at all time

8. Willingness to clean restrooms, floors and glass windows and door

9. Must communicate effectively with the fellow team members on all matters relating to the product, guest needs and feedback.

10. Inspect and ensure that all barista equipment is in top working order.

11. Must always be aware of all perishable food items in storage and apply FIFO principle for proper rotation and usage of items.

12. Assembling panini sandwiches and using a panini machine.

13. Assembling breakfast sandwiches and other savory items needed

14. Serving soup or other hot items such as gravy from a soup warmer

15. Responsible for opening / closing of the bakery.

16. Assist with inventory with FOH supplies

17. Apply labels or stamp logo on serving containers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS

* Lift heavy objects

* Push/pull carts over rough conditions.

* Forward bend, squatting, kneeling, half-kneeling and forward reach to get to low racks and cabinets

Forces: Toddy of coffee concentrate: 40 lbs.

Bus tubs 30 lbs.

Trash cans: 40 lbs.

Mop bucket: 30 lbs.

Flipping Chairs: 30 lbs.

Repetitions: * Standing for long periods of time.

* Bending, squatting, reaching into cabinets: frequently

Environment: Warm and cold environments

Wet and slippery Floors

Walk in temperature (36 degrees)

Sensory: Sight and good sensation needed while working around stoves and ovens.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.25 per hour
