• Looking for part time/full time help including weekends
• Barista: at least 6 months
• Must be available weekday afternoons for at least one day from 1-6
• Must have RBS (responsible beverage server) certificate
• Food Service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Experience providing excellent customer service
• Schedule flexibility, including evenings and weekends
• Food handlers certification within 30 days of hire
• Must have taken sexual harassment training in the last 2 years
• Must be able to multi-task, work fast and efficiently

Job Description

Rose Café & Bagel in West Roseville is a bagel and sourdough bakery featuring specialty organic coffee from locally based Pachamama Coffee Roasters. We source our flour, coffee and other ingredients as local as possible. We bake daily in house many treats and honor artisanal methods to produce only the highest quality best tasting products in our market.

Rose Café & Bagel is looking for qualified barista/sandwich candidates to join our team. The team member must be versatile in many areas to be successful (sandwich making, barista, cashiering, and baking). Cleaning is a big part of the job as well.

Hours will likely be Saturday through Thursday starting as early as 5:30 am or as late as closing at 6 pm.

Job Summary and Mission

This position contributes to Rose Café & Bagel success by providing outstanding guest service to all customers. This job demands prompt service, quality beverages and sandwich products while maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. This is a key role with room for advancement as the store grows.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and follow Rose Café & Bagel’s code of conduct
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standards and to set a positive example for the shift team.
• Anticipates guest and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues.
• Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary.
• Assists with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
• Delivers outstanding guest service to all guest by acting with a guest comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to guest needs.
• Follows Rose Café & Bagels operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that team members can locate resources and product as needed.
• Provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods.
• Must maintain a high energy level during work hours

Summary of Experience

• Must have 6 months of barista experience

Basic Qualifications

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Engage, welcome and understand our guests, including discovering and responding to guest needs through clear and pleasant communication while appropriately suggesting additional products with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.
• Respond to guests' needs and say "thank you" to every guest.
• Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for guests, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
• Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
• Experience in dealing with problems involving guest service.
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
• Support your team in keeping the Cafe' running smoothly. These tasks may vary but can include dishwashing, cleaning tables, sweeping, dusting, mopping, cleaning and organizing sandwich station or espresso bar and taking out trash
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.50 - $24.50 per hour
