Barista/Giftshop Helper

Job Summary:
This is a part-time or Full Time on-site role as a Barista and Gift Shop Attendant for our newly opened Coffee Bar located in our gift shop at the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center. You do not need to have experience as a barista we will teach you, but food service and/or Retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Be able to small talk with ease
• Learn drink recipes
• Serve hot and cold drinks to customers to their specifications
• To check out customers at the register
• Be able to switch over to our gift shop as needed to help out ( this may include: selling tickets, checking out visitors for gift shop, restocking shelves)
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, utensils, dishes and work areas
• Be positive and welcoming to everyone who walks in our door
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Check our customers for the giftshop
• Sell tickets to go upstairs to the Museum
• Be professional and not be bothered by a dress code

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Worked in Food Service or retail for at least one year
• Excellent verbal communication
• Enjoy learning and talking about history (some of our specialty drinks are inspired by historical information)
• Be able to lift 40 pounds with or without assistance

Our Mission:

To Aid the mission of the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center in preserving the stories of Medal of Honor recipients in a creative way. Plus of course serving great coffee to Chattanooga!

Pay: $15.00 per hour
