Barista/Server

B Cup Cafe & Eatery, a twenty year East Village NYC establishment, is seeking a Barista/Server. We’re expecting a ‘hunger’ for sales and growth, punctuality, and endless care for our guests and space. We’re a tight knit team and have a drama-free workplace.

Pay: Hourly + Tips

Required Experience : 1yrs+

Responsibilities:

- Learn all drinks on our menu and be able to suggest popular choices and add-ons to customers.

- Host & lead the counter shift.

- ***Must be able to converse with customers, promote a positive, welcoming, and engaging environment. High focus on socializing and becoming familiar with customers.

- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.

- Must handle food safely and follow proper food handling and cleanliness procedures.

- Serve food and drink orders, offer light table service.

- General cleaning, opening, & closing tasks.

- Ability to socialize with customers, whether it be a quick check in during order placement or a lengthy conversation as you complete other tasks.

- Ability to learn quickly with a focus on quality, speed, and great customer service.

- Prior experience in coffee/kitchen and customer service is mandatory.

- Must be fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.

- NY Food Handler's certificate is a plus.

Specifications:

- Starting out part-time with the potential for up to 40 hours a week. WEEKEND AV MANDATORY.

- 6-8 hour shifts.
