Barista/Server

The Tuscarawas County Senior Center in Dover is hiring for a part-time (up to 29 hrs per week) barista/server for our Prospect Perks Coffee & Cafe.

NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS!!

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

$11 per hour plus tips!

Position: Cafe Server/Barista

Position: Part-time- Up to 29 hours per week

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

Position Summary:
Assist the Cafe Manager in running the cafe by providing excellent customer service to the patrons, as well as preparing and serving all meals and coffee creations requested by the patrons from the menu.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the Café Manager as directed by preparing and serving all meals from the Café.
• Create coffee as described on the menu for customers.
• Ability to operate the Purchase of Service system to create checks for customers to pay.
• Ability to wait on tables by taking food/beverage orders with accuracy, deliver food/beverage in a timely manner, and bus tables by wiping tables, chairs and counters when guests depart.
• Participate with team members in setting up patio with umbrellas during the appropriate season.
• Able to perform duties as assigned in an efficient manner that benefits the café operations.
• Cleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools and utensils.
• Performs all duties with safety in mind for all Café staff.
• Assist with clean-ups such as wiping down equipment, dishwashing, putting away dishes, and mopping floor.
• Assist in setting up special events and working on special events as required.
• Perform duties associated with servers in the Café and Patio when needed.
• Able to follow verbal directions, follow task lists, produce with high productivity and efficiency.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
• All other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation to work.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to work in, and handle a periodic, fast-paced, hectic, and demanding environment.
• Must maintain positive customer service and integrity of the menu standards by which TCSC, has set in place.
• The role of this position is to provide support and assist those who prepare, cook, serve, clean and provide an overall positive “guest” experience.
• You must be organized, clean, and friendly. Must be able to lift between 30-50 lbs.
• Must keep all client information confidential.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug screen.
• Must be able to work flexible hours when the need arises.
• Must pass all SafeServ courses as required.
• Must be able to stand on feet/walk continuously for a minimum of 6 hours a day, five days a week.
• Must be physically fit and capable of working in a stressful, demanding environment. A physical fitness test may be required.
