Barista/Shift supervisor

Duties

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee drinks, beverages, and light food items with precision and care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and ensuring their needs are met promptly.
  • Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Oversee shift operations, including cash handling, food safety compliance, and food preparation standards.
  • Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, food handling safety, and adherence to health regulations within the café environment.
  • Assist in training new team members on food service procedures, POS systems, and customer engagement techniques.
  • Support sales goals by promoting menu items and upselling products to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
  • Handle cash registers with accuracy using retail math skills while managing cashiering responsibilities during busy periods.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions by managing time effectively, delegating tasks appropriately, and maintaining a positive team atmosphere.

Experience

  • Previous barista experience in a café or food service setting is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that creates a welcoming environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking efficiently.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and basic math for cash handling and retail transactions.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team within a retail or food industry setting is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are valued highly.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
