The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through high‑quality beverage preparation, attentive service, and a welcoming personality. This role requires strong product knowledge, the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe bar area. The Bartender ensures all drinks are crafted according to recipes, follows alcohol‑service laws, and supports the smooth operation of the bar and dining room.

Description

Guest Service

  • Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, knowledgeable service
  • Take drink orders, make recommendations, and answer questions about beverages and menu items
  • Ensure guests have a positive and memorable experience throughout their visit
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary

Beverage Preparation

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain product knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and specialty cocktails
  • Monitor drink quality, consistency, and accuracy for every order
  • Prepare garnishes and maintain a stocked, organized workstation

Bar Operations

  • Set up and break down the bar before and after service
  • Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and supplies as needed throughout the shift
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar, equipment, and service areas in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures

Cash Handling & POS

  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system
  • Process payments, handle cash responsibly, and follow all financial procedures
  • Maintain accountability for cash drawers and tabs

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all alcohol service laws and company policies regarding age verification
  • Monitor guest intoxication levels and act responsibly to ensure a safe environment
  • Adhere to sanitation protocols and maintain compliance with local health regulations

Inventory & Stocking

  • Track inventory levels for liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies
  • Communicate low‑stock items or shortages to management in a timely manner
  • Assist with weekly or monthly inventory counts as needed

Team Support

  • Collaborate with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with bar training for new staff if assigned
  • Support a positive, team‑oriented work environment

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast‑paced environment
  • Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service
