Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and personable Bartender to join our team! At Surf Shack, the bar is more than just drinks, it’s part of the experience. We’re looking for bartenders who bring great energy, deliver responsible service, and help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages with precision, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing personalized recommendations and ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
• Manage POS systems efficiently for order processing, billing, and cash handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties such as processing payments and giving correct change using retail math skills.
• Restock bar supplies regularly, monitor inventory levels, and communicate needs to management promptly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff during catering or banquet events to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Uphold responsible serving practices by checking IDs, recognizing intoxication signs, and adhering to alcohol service laws.
• Assist in setting up bar areas for special events, ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for service.

Skills

• Must be 21+
• Proficiency with POS systems for efficient order entry and transaction processing.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations during busy periods without compromising service quality.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that makes guests feel welcome and appreciated.
• Previous bartending experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling, food safety standards, and proper alcohol serving procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and tab management.
• Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for catering, food service, brewing processes, and retail operations within hospitality settings.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members across different departments.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
