Position Summary
True South is seeking a bartender who understands both speed and substance—someone who can handle volume without losing the craft.
This role is for a bartender who doesn’t just pour drinks, but understands what they’re serving. Our bar program is rooted in the South—whiskey-forward, ingredient-driven, and built to complement a chef-driven sandwich menu. You should be comfortable moving quickly while still delivering a product that feels deliberate.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute classic and craft cocktails with consistency in a high-volume environment
- Maintain strong working knowledge of bourbon, rye, Tennessee whiskey, and American whiskey traditions
- Guide guests through beer selections, with emphasis on regional and craft offerings
- Deliver fast, attentive service while maintaining composure under pressure
- Maintain bar organization, cleanliness, and full stock throughout service
- Work in sync with the kitchen and floor staff to ensure seamless guest experience
- Accurately process transactions and manage bar tabs
- Uphold all responsible alcohol service standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years bartending experience in a high-volume bar setting
- Strong foundation in craft cocktails and classic builds
- Working knowledge of whiskey (bourbon, rye, etc.) and beer styles
- Ability to maintain quality while operating at speed
- Strong communication skills and presence behind the bar
- Must possess a valid State of Louisiana ATC Responsible Vendor (RV) Card

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a chef-driven or concept-driven restaurant/bar

- Ability to speak confidently about pairings (food + drink)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (kegs, cases, bar stock)
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
- Hourly wage + tips (based on experience)
