Bartender

Ricky’s Wine Bar is a modern Italian wine bar bringing aperitivo culture to Williamsburg. We focus on thoughtfully curated food, wines, crafted cocktails, and a warm, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. We’re looking for an experienced Bartender who can confidently run the bar, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and help shape the beverage program.

This is a leadership role for someone who is as comfortable managing bar operations as they are engaging with guests.

What You’ll Do

• Lead bar service during shifts and operate independently
• Prepare high-quality classic and specialty cocktails with consistency and efficiency
• Guide guests through our wine list with confidence and enthusiasm
• Make thoughtful wine and cocktail recommendations based on guest preferences
• Oversee bar setup, breakdown, and cleanliness standards
• Manage bar inventory, prep lists, and communicate ordering needs
• Ensure compliance with Virginia ABC laws and responsible alcohol service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar at all times
• Support development of seasonal cocktails and beverage features
• Provide a welcoming, polished, and upbeat guest experience
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and floor staff to ensure smooth service
• Assist with training future bar staff as we grow

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years bartending experience (wine-focused or craft cocktail bar preferred)
• Strong knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and food pairings
• Solid understanding of classic cocktails and modern techniques
• Cocktail menu development experience
• Ability to manage a bar solo during service
• Experience with bar opening/closing procedures
• Inventory and bar prep experience
• Professional, calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
• A true team player with leadership instincts
• Must be 21+ and eligible to work in the U.S.
