Woof Play Eat is Portland’s first indoor dog park + restaurant + bar — a high-energy, community-driven space where great drinks, great food, and happy dogs all come together. Our bar program blends craft cocktails, local beer, specialty coffee, creative mocktails, and dog-friendly offerings, all served in a lively, dog-friendly environment.

The Role
As a Bartender at Woof Play Eat, you’ll craft exceptional beverages while delivering warm, efficient service to our guests. You’ll follow standardized recipes, maintain a clean and organized bar, and model responsible alcohol service — all while embracing a servant-leadership mindset by supporting teammates and creating memorable experiences for both humans and pups.

This role includes morning coffee service and evening/weekend bar shifts, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety behind the bar.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare craft cocktails, local beers, specialty coffee, mocktails, and dog-safe beverage items.
• Follow standardized recipes and precise pouring procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
• Greet guests promptly, check IDs responsibly, and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar including glassware, tools, draft systems, and coffee equipment.
• Complete opening and closing duties using established checklists.
• Perform espresso dial-in and coffee calibration to ensure consistent extraction and quality.
• Participate in inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate bar stock levels.
• Upsell featured cocktails, mocktails, and seasonal beverages.
• Keep floors and service areas safe for dogs and guests, alerting leadership to any safety concerns.
• Support teammates, assist with on-shift training, and contribute to a positive team culture.

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year experience in a craft cocktail, brewery, or specialty beverage environment.
• Barista experience is a plus, especially with espresso machines and milk steaming.
• Familiarity with classic and modern cocktails, draft systems, espresso extraction, and latte art.
• Responsible beverage certification (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or Maine Responsible Server — current or obtained within 30 days).
• Strong guest interaction skills, attention to detail, and comfort using POS systems.
• Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and helping maintain a pet-safe environment.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Available for mornings (coffee service) and nights/weekends (bar service).
