Title: Bartender
Reports to: General Manager, and Bar and Service Manager
Bartenders are responsible for executing daily events and bar prep, maintaining an in-depth knowledge of our spirit/wine/beer and food menus, and coordinating a seamless dining experience with the entire team. Bartenders also uphold the basic tenets of our values through a love of hospitality conveyed through positive communication, professionalism, and guest experiences.
PEOPLE

- Motivate and engage each other through fair treatment, creating a positive atmosphere, and instilling pride.
- Attend regular staff meetings to obtain new policy and procedure information, and to receive feedback and education.
SERVICE
- Keep up to date with service notes and any special events pertinent to the day.
- Celebrate positive feedback from colleagues, guests, and diners.
- Keep open lines of communication with the host, service staff, and kitchen to ensure a successful service.
- Maintain a professional appearance that aligns with the Big Cat image.
- Maintain bar cleanliness during service and run-through cleaning procedures during the opening and closing of the bar.
- Operate POS systems, Toast, to process orders and handle cash transactions.
- Assist in bar preparation and break down (i.e., batching, juicing, garnish preparation, restocking)
- Attend staff educational trainings to maintain wine/cocktail menu knowledge. We will be offering a more extensive selection of BTB/BTG wines and specialty cocktails.
- Children are a big part of the surrounding community, and maintaining a positive, kid-friendly attitude during service is a key goal of our hospitality experience.
- Execute bar service in an attentive and anticipatory manner by focusing on the smaller details, such as allergens, water refills, and regular check-ins on food and drink orders to ensure guest needs and requests are met.
- Possess extensive menu knowledge through daily line-ups, noting food/drink presentation, allergens, ingredients, and preparation to make recommendations or substitutions.
HEALTH, SAFETY & PROTOCOLS
- Minimize risk, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and procedures, food safety, responsible service of alcohol, and employment legislation
- Ensure a safe and positive working environment at all times
- De-escalate complaints with a hospitable attitude, but if complaints escalate, seek General Manager, or Bar and Service Manager to de-escalate or act as a mediator if necessary
- Adhere to SOPs to maintain a safe and healthy restaurant
INTANGIBLES
- Have an awareness and sense of what is on the horizon for the company and anticipate changes or trends that can assist in leading to a successful venture. Stay abreast of general trends in the food and beverage industry at large and work to find the proper sources for new products as we evolve
- Recognize strategies that are working for other successful businesses and bring them to the attention of ownership.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
